Foot Clinic

Every six weeks we have a Foot Clinic. Our next one is not until NOVEMBER 22.  These Clinics are by appointment only. Since we are now having this inside the building you Must wear a mask for them. Now don't forget your soaking basin, a towel, and your own foot soak soap. We are now scheduling people for every half hour because we need to sanitize between customers. Thank-you for your patience at this time of COVID.
Our next one after is DECEMBER 1.

Tai Chi New Class (Falls Prevention Tai Chi)

Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese form of exercise, and is seen by many as slowed down martial arts. Tai Chi focuses on slow, thoughtful movements that are coordinated with the breath. Those who practice Tai Chi reap many health benefits and it is a great stress reducer. All experience levels are welcome to attend. This Tai Chi is for sitting also.
When: We are starting up our Fall Tai Chi, After that we will resume classes in the next week.
This class is every Thursday afternoon from 1:30 - 2:30 p.m.

Qigong

Qigong is a form of exercise comprising of deep breathing, and gentle flowing rhythmic movements and stretches while creating an awareness of how the body moves through space. Qigong improves balance and flexibility and helps to relieve stress, both physical and mental. It can also help reduce blood pressure, and is great for overall health. Currently our Qigong program is done following a DVD. You do only what you can do, and you may stand holding a chair or sit. Qigong is a great way to feel calm yet energized at the same time.
When: None yet for a while.
 It is NOT back on!

Strong Living

The Strong Living Program has been going on for over 15 years and was originally developed by Tufts University. It's emphasis is on building our core muscles which is key to maintaining our balance as we get older. Some participants use weights (on their legs and/or arms) and some don't. You only do what you can do comfortably. Because we conduct this class WITHOUT benefit of a DVD, there's a social aspect to it: we chat and tell jokes - laughter is essential to our overall health. The class is led by Thelma Baroffio and incorporates both standing and sitting exercises, as well as resistance,  balance, and flexibility exercises.  MASKS ARE NO LONGER MANDATORY!
When: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:30-9:10 A.M

Strength & Stretch

Our Strength & Stretch program is a safe and gentle workout program. The program helps develop your strength and coordination, and enhances your ability to function in daily life, improving your balance, mobility, and stamina. Strength and Stretch provides strength training for the upper and lower body. As with the above exercise programs, you only do what you are comfortable doing. Some participants use hand weights but it is NOT required.  This program is done seated in a chair and is done following a DVD.
When: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 - 10 A.M.
Cancelled till further notice, We hope to return soon.
We Seniors come in a variety of ages, shapes, sizes and abilities. You'll Notice that we offer four exercise classes. Each of these programs was developed specifically for Seniors. The side benefit of the classes is the social aspect of spending time with others. The classes are free of charge, although donations are always welcome. No registration is required, just come to a class.
